Injection moulding

Thirty years in injection moulding, from the design and the mould to reliable production.

efce's particular expertise. Processing of a wide range of engineering plastics. Specialized operations, including multi-component injection molding, BMC, and gas-assisted injection molding. Experience in a wide range of post-molding capabilities, covering ultrasonic welding, printing, assembly, and precision machining.

The whole chain

Part design, mould, material and process are all interconnected.

We possess the deep technical expertise to analyze each parameter individually—part design, material, mould, and process—and the combined insight to optimize them as a unified system, delivering precise, end-to-end solutions.

A second pair of eyes

What an expert sees.

Without specialised technical supervision, a toolmaker will build a mould that simply meets the minimum agreed specifications, focusing on a few critical dimensions and on producing parts, at least some of them, without visible defects.

The real challenge, however, moves to the production floor: the moulder is then left to deal with slow cycle times, high scrap rates and constant maintenance.

Our supervision makes sure the mould is designed and built not just to "produce parts", but for maximum productivity, repeatability and long-term profitability.

  • Will this wall thickness cause sink marks on the visible face?
  • Where will the weld line fall? Will it affect the part's functionality?
  • Can the cooling system keep this part flat at the quoted cycle time?
  • Are the needed tolerances achievable with this material and this mould?
  • What are the appropriate steels for the various mould parts?
  • Are there vulnerable mould components that might require frequent maintenance?
  • How should the part be injected? Are hot runners actually needed?
  • Is the proposed ejection system adequate?
Beyond standard moulding

Technologies we introduced, produced with, and know from the inside.

BMC

Bulk Moulding Compound

A thermoset moulding process that bridges injection moulding and composites: heat resistance, dimensional stability and electrical insulation. Introduced to Greece by efce's founder; the first BMC injection mould in Greece was designed in 2011.

GAI

Gas-assisted injection

Nitrogen gas hollows out thick sections from the inside: no warpage or sink marks, reduced material usage, shorter cycle times, and lower clamping force requirements. Ideal for handles, frames, and thick-walled components.

2K

Two-component moulding

Hard-soft combinations, seals moulded onto the part and two-colour parts, including overmoulding with a robot linking two machines.

RTM

Composites by RTM

Resin transfer moulding for large, strong and light structures, such as the panels of the patented transportable hangar.
